Two men in their twenties were arrested yesterday in relation to a robbery that occurred earlier this week in Tipperary.

Gardaí have since charged one of them. He appeared before the Nenagh District Court this morning at 10.30am.

The other man was released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

On Sunday, January 10, a robbery took place at a shop on Main Street, Borrisoleigh. Just before 5pm, two men - one of which was carrying what is believed to be a knife - entered the shop.

They threatened a staff member and demanded they hand over cash from the till. The two men then left the shop with some money, and drove away in a car that was parked outside.

Gardaí in Templemore and Thurles carried out an investigation, and then arrested the two men.

They were being detained at Templemore and Nenagh Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984.
