Charged Third youth due in court in connection with violent incident at Howth Dart Station

Two other male youths appeared before the Children's court on Tuesday.

A third youth has been charged in connection with a violent attack on a woman at Howth Junction Dart Station on April 1, 2021.

A 17-year-old girl was pushed off the train platform and landed between the platform and a train before she was helped back to safety.

CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media. It showed a number of young women running past a group of male youths before one of the girls was pushed towards the tracks.

Following direction from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Gardai have charged the young man who was previously arrested in relation to the incident.

He will appear before Dublin’s Children Court this morning at 10.30am.

Gardai arrested two boys aged 16 and 17 in relation to the incident on Tuesday, November 9th.

They were charged at Clontarf garda station and brought before Judge Paul Kelly in separate Dublin Children's Court hearings.

Bikes, mobile phones and clothes were seized as part of the inquiry.

The youths, who cannot be named because of their age, have not yet indicated how they will plead to the charges.
