Pensioner (73) due in court in connection with €110,000 cash seizure

A 73-year-old man is due for court this morning over the seizure of of €110,000 in cash in North Dublin yesterday.
The man was arrested yesterday following a search of an address in Finglas, Dublin conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) supported by the Garda Dog Unit.
During the search, over €110,000 in cash was seized, along with an encrypted phone, a cash counting machine, jewellery, watches, and a vacuum packing machine.
The man was arrested on suspicion of involvement in organised crime, “contrary to Section 72 Criminal Justice Act 2006 as amended to enhance and facilitate money laundering,” said gardaí.
He was detained at Finglas Garda Station and has since been charged.
He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning, 2nd April 2021, at 10.30am.
