Sweet n' sour Man charged with possession of €106k worth of suspected drugs including cannabis jellies

A man has appeared in court charged with the possession of more than €100,000 worth of suspected drugs in Co Sligo.

Anthony Delaney, aged 29, appeared at Letterkenny District Court in Co Donegal today.

Gardai arrested Delaney and found him with a haul of suspected cannabis herb, cannabis resin, cannabis jellies and cocaine in Collooney on Tuesday.

The total value of the suspected drugs is estimated to be €106,000.

Gardaí from Sligo Garda station searched the property in Collooney at 9pm using a search warrant under Section 26 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977/84.

He was charged with possession of drugs and the possession for sale and supply of drugs.

Garda Sgt Jim Collins said they had no objection to bail.

However, a number of conditions were imposed on the accused with an address at 20 Kiernan Avenue, Collooney, Co Sligo.

They are that he not apply for a passport, that he sign on twice a week at Sligo Garda Station and that he remains indoors on a curfew at his address between 10pm and 7am.

Judge Sandra Murphy released Delaney on his own bail of €250.

She adjourned the case to Sligo District Court on September 2nd next.
