Man appears before court after €76,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb is seized

A man has appeared before Galway District Court in connection with the seizure of €76,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb.
The man, who is in his forties, had been arrested after gardaí found the cannabis herb alongside more than €7,000 in cash following the search of a house in Galway on Monday.
Gardaí attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house in the Newcastle area at approximately 10.30pm.
The raid was carried out as part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris earlier this month.
