Drugs bust Man (30s) charged over seizure of €70K of cannabis herb in Cork

Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs unit in Anglesea seized approximately €70,000 of suspected cannabis herb, which was sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

A man has been charged in relation to the seizure of €70,000 of cannabis in Cork this week.

The man in his 30s was arrested following a search of a house on Shandon Street in Cork City around 8.30pm on May 23rd.

He is due to appear before Cork City District today, May 25th, at 10.30am.

During the search, gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs unit in Anglesea seized approximately €70,000 of suspected cannabis herb, which was sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

The search was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Cork city.

The man was arrested at the scene and was detained at Mayfield Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
