A FURIOUS judge in the North has waged war on the 'Covidiots' who break the rules and has told one couple she’d charge them with “attempted murder” if she could.

Judge Bernie Kelly was dealing with two “selfish” Omagh women this week who broke lockdown rules at a St Patrick’s Day party earlier this year.

She fined the engaged couple a whopping £500 (€580) each.

And she asked one of them why she thought it was “alright to kill us?”

Sara Louise Shields (30), of Mountjoy Road, and Natalie Evenlyn Galbriath (25), of Edinburgh Park, Omagh, felt the wrath of Judge Kelly after appearing at Omagh Magistrates Court charged with contravening the Health Protection Regulations.

And it’s not the first time Judge Kelly has delivered the "hairdryer" treatment to the party people who reject the rules.

Last week the same judge fined two Portadown men £1,500 (€1,700) and told them if she had her way she’d ban them from getting treated by the NHS in future.

She fined 71-year-old Martin Lavery £1,500 and his stepson, 48-year-old Tommy Creaney, £500 after they were involved in an ongoing ‘party’ of five or six people in February when indoor gatherings were still banned due to Covid.

She did not know Lavery was actually in hospital at the time recovering from a heart problem.

And this week her court was told that an "ongoing" party was held in O’Kane Park in Omagh on St Patrick’s Day and that Shields had previously received a Covid regulation caution.

“There is absolutely no excuse for breaching Covid regulations,” she said.
