A mural is being painted on the Falls Road of Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams.

Early reports suggest the mural's creators began after Adams' arrest on Wednesday.

If so, it represents a bold statement by Adams' hard-line followers that they are prepared to stand by him.

The Louth TD is currently being questioned in connection with the murder of Jean McConville in 1972.

The mural appears to show the words 'peacemaker, leader, visionary'.
