The search for a Dublin woman who had been missing since yesterday morning has been called off.

It is understood that a body has been found close to where Ann Reilly (56) had gone missing.

She was last seen at a Tesco Metro on Mellows Road in Finglas just before 9am yesterday morning.

The mother of three had mental health issues and her sister Alexandra McMahon had told TheJournal.ie that she did  not leave her house very often.

“Her husband was shocked that she wasn’t there when he came back into the house – he had only been gone about an hour and a half at that stage,” she said.

“It’s just not like her,” McMahon said. “She’s a shy person, even though she has had mental health issues, her personality anyone is to be shy.”

“She doesn’t have a whole lot of friends. She does lock herself away in the house quite a lot so she doesn’t come into contact with a lot of people. Whatever she has done she has done off her own back.”

Earlier today a post on a Facebook page set up to help find Ann stated: ‘Thanks everyone for all your help the past 2 days but unfortunately Ann has passed away she can rest in peace now xx’
