TD sent 'spanking' Facebook messages to girl (17)
These are some of the inappropriate messages sent by Independent Dail deputy Patrick Nulty to various families in his constituency, which resulted in him sensationally quitting his position last night.
The allegations against the TD (31) include a woman being asked to send underwear in the post and another being urged to wear a skirt when visiting his constituency clinic.
Deputy Nulty, who won the late Brian Lenihan’s Dublin West Dail seat in 2011, first denied he was responsible, claiming his phone was hacked. But when the Sunday World confronted him with ‘geo-tagging’ data that showed the messages were sent from inside Leinster House, Nulty admitted it was him.
One of the families, who have asked not to be identified as one of them is a minor, have made a complaint to Gardai over the matter.
They were first alarmed when a message was sent from his Facebook account at almost 1am in January this year asking the mother: “Did the hubby leather you for not paying that rent?”
The next morning the woman, who was disturbed by the message, questioned Nulty as to why he sent the message and what he meant by it.
He replied: “Sorry. Phone hacked plz ignore.”
When the family discussed the issue, the woman’s 17-year-old daughter showed them extremely disturbing messages from Nulty’s Facebook account that he had sent her in December, 2013.
The messages to the schoolgirl, which were sent shortly before and after 5am on December 29, began by asking her if she was “being good” and if she wanted to play “truth or dare”.
When the girl replied “Truth”, he replied: “Have you ever been spanked?”
The shocked youngster wrote back: “What the f**k?” and the reply she got was the message: “Only a joke”.
Nulty went on to say it was a “harmless game”.
When the girl didn’t write back to him, he asked if she was going to give out to him. She asked if he was drunk and he replied: “Yep.”
