Widowed husband recreates touching shots from wedding album using daughter (3)
A widowed husband has recreated his wedding album in a series of photos with his three-year-old daughter.
Ben Nunery (34) lost his wife Ali to a rare form of lung cancer in 2011, only one year after celebrating the birth of their daughter.
They had bought their marital home one day before their wedding in 2009 and decided to have their wedding photos taken in it.
Recently, Ben decided it was time to move out, but before doing so he wanted to re-create the scenes from his wedding album - using his 3-year-old daughter as a fitting substitute for his late wife.
Wife Ali's sister-in-law Melanie Pace was asked to recreate the shots she took of the newlyweds four years previous.
The touching photos show the widowed husband and his daughter Olivia in the same poses shot the day after Ben and Ali were wed.
Ben shared the shots with the message: “This is a story about love. The pain is nothing compared to the love that I feel for Ali and Olivia and that’s the story I want these pictures to tell to Olivia in the years to come and to anyone else that sees them.”
After the photos were distributed through various news outlets around the world, Ben posted a Facebook message reading: "Blown away, overwhelmed, shocked, delighted. . . just some of the words that I would use to described how I'm feeling right now.
"The truth is, it can't be put into words. Gone over two years and Ali continues to move people. To all those thousands of people posting comments and sending me messages. . . from the bottom of my heart, thank you. It has meant the world."
