Zayn Malik's bodyguard needs new job
Zayn Malik's bodyguard is looking for a new job.
The 22-year-old singer quit One Direction last week, and as a result, his personal security guard Preston Mahon is now out of work too.
He tweeted: "Guys , just so you know , I'm just as sad about Zayn leaving the band , I've been with them 5 years , but I respect his choice :-/.
"I have to respect it , even tho it's put me out of work now :-( but I'll bounce back , I hope x. (sic)"
While Zayn's departure has left his bodyguard without a job, it was recently revealed his decision to quit has also cost each member of the group - Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - £2 million each.
The 'Best Song Ever' hitmakers were guaranteed the money for fulfilling the terms of their record contract but it was only valid if all five members were still part of the band, and Zayn felt he had already made as much money as he needed so didn't have an "incentive" to stay.
A source said: "There's a massive loyalty bonus for each member if they fulfil their record deal.
"But Zayn didn't even want the money. All he ever wanted was to buy his mum a house - and he's done that so there was no incentive for him to finish the tour let alone make a fifth album only to spend another six months on the road."
