Zayn Malik praises inspirational Gigi

Zayn Malik says Gigi Hadid is "an inspiration".

The 23-year-old singer took to Instagram to praise his girlfriend on Friday (09.09.16), before she debuted her new fashion collection with Tommy Hilfiger at New York Fashion Week.

Zayn tweeted: ".@GiGiHadid Good luck tonight baby. You're about to show the world your amazing GxTH collection. I am so proud. You are an inspiration. X (sic)."

He added a link to the website streaming the show and wrote: "Watching my girl live here. Everyone support."

It's unclear why Zayn did not attend the show.

Meanwhile, last week Zayn revealed that his "extreme anxiety" had forced him to pull out of a concert in Dubai next month.

He said in a statement: "Dear Fans, I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October.

"I am assured that all tickets will be refunded.

"I am truly sorry to disappoint you. I hope to see you all soon.

"Thank you to all my fans who support me globally.

"With love and respect always, Zayn."

And he has been relying on his 21-year-old girlfriend for support as her positive attitude helps him to relax and she can ease his fears better than anyone.

A source said: "Gigi has a very calming effect on Zayn and will spend hours on the phone with him when he is having a bad day. She will remind him to take deep breaths and to do those things that relax him like drawing or painting. She does worry about him, but never shows it. She just stays as positive as she can when she's helping him calm down.

"Gigi has been doing everything she can to help Zayn overcome his anxiety and panic attacks. She is constantly giving him reassurance that he is safe and nothing bad is going to happen to him. When she's away from Zayn, she texts him inspirational quotes from Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer."
