Tommy Lee gets stuck upside down at Mötley Crüe's final gig after rollercoaster breaks down

Tommy Lee was left hanging mid-air after his drum rollercoaster broke down during Mötley Crüe's final gig on New Year's Eve (31.12.15).

The 53-year-old musician had to be rescued after his elaborate drum set-up - dubbed 'The Cruecifly' - came to a frightening halt during the band's farewell show at the Staples Centre in their hometown of Los Angeles and he was left hanging upside down over the audience.

As backstage crew members rushed to fix the rollercoaster, Tommy made light of the situation by telling his bandmates: "It looks like the rollercoaster is broken.

"Well, f**k the rollercoaster! Come on, guys, help. Come get me. I can't believe this is happening on the last night. I knew something wasn't right when I took off."

After the crew's desperate bid to fix the coaster failed miserably, the drumming legend was forced to climb down.

However, despite the glitch, the band didn't seem to let the mishap get to them as they marked 35 years of Motley Crue.

But, although they've now retired, the group - consisting of Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Vince Nei and Tommy - will be back later this year with a film version of their final show.
