Tom Hiddleston's nude bum earns him Rear of the Year honour
Tom Hiddleston has beaten Idris Elba and Jamie Dornan to be crowned Rear of the Year 2016.
The 35-year-old actor, who is arguably more well known these days for his relationship with Taylor Swift than his acting work, is no stranger to stripping off on screen.
But a sex scene in BBC drama The Night Manager, in which Tom displayed his posterior, quickly became a viral hit and has now lead to Tom taking home this latest honour.
Tom beat Luther actor Idris Elba and Jamie Dornan, who showed off his rear through playing Christian Grey in sex-laden movie Fifty Shades of Grey, to claim the victory.
Tennis player Andy Murray and British actor Bradley Walsh also featured in the top five, with Tom's win secured by a majority of votes from over 10,000 members of the public between July 2015 and June 2016.
While Tom's sex scene in The Night Manager even saw the nickname "Hiddlesbum" coined, the footage was edited out when the series aired in America.
After learning of the cut, the actor told W magazine: "I was surprised to hear that they cut my butt out! I'm here to tell you that my butt is not dangerous.
"And there are many, many more dangerous things that people are happy to broadcast. I don't know what that says about the world we live in, but it probably says something."
Of course, The Night Manager certainly isn't the first time Tom has showed off his physique on screen. His recent films Crimson Peak, I Saw the Light and High-Rise all saw him strip off, but the actor insists he's not fazed by the prospect of baring all.
"I've come from the tradition of European film, where nudity isn't really something," he told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview. "I've seen many other more esteemed actors be infinitely more naked than me. I just don't think twice about it. It was important for the scene and no more or less significant than any of the other scenes in the story."
British soap actress Jennifer Metcalfe was crowned the winner of the female Rear of the Year 2016.
