Tila Tequila's Twitter account suspended after Nazi salute photo
Model and TV personality Tila Tequila's Twitter account has been suspended after she posted a photo of herself at a neo-Nazi party.
Tila was among a group of people who gathered to hear white nationalist Richard Spencer speak in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night (19Nov16), and she was photographed smiling and giving the Nazi hand salute.
She tweeted the shot on Twitter, prompting offended site bosses to pull her account.
Meanwhile, the owners of the restaurant where the shot was taken have apologised for Tequila's actions, insisting they had no idea the dinner she attended was white supremacy get together.
The profits the restaurant made from the night of the Tila Tequila incident will be donated to the Anti-Defamation League.
It's not the first time the Internet sensation has made waves with her nationalist beliefs - she was kicked off a British reality TV show for remarks she made about Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
The model and singer was axed from Celebrity Big Brother last year (15), just a day after the latest cast was revealed, when producers learned of comments she had made about Hitler on Facebook.com in 2013.
Tequila, real name Tila Nguyen, owned up to claims she praised the infamous German leader, called herself "Hitler reborn" and "Hitila", and posted a photo of herself wearing Nazi regalia outside Auschwitz, where thousands of Jews were killed during World War Two.
Producers confronted her after hundreds of TV viewers complained about her involvement in the show, and immediately dismissed her from the Big Brother house.
A spokesman for The Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, the British organisation which launched a petition to force producers to axe Tequila, said, "The British public has little time for attention seeking Nazi sympathisers like Tila Tequila. The producers ought to be ashamed of themselves for promoting such a deeply offensive and nasty person on primetime television."
A source at Channel 5, the network which airs Celebrity Big Brother, claimed producers were unaware of the reality TV star's Hitler views before casting her.
