Thurman resolves visitation dispute with ex

Uma Thurman and ex-fiancé Arpad Busson have amicably resolved a dispute over visitation rights to their daughter.

The Kill Bill actress has been engaged to the French financier on and off since 2008, with their most recent break-up being in April last year. The former couple have three-year-old daughter Rosalind together, who goes by the nickname Luna. However Arpad took Uma to court as he wished to spend more time with his little girl. On Monday, the pair amicably resolved the issue, with Justice Matthew Cooper commending them on their “flexibility”.

“I’m very pleased that we were able to resolve the immediate issue of parental access with the child and everybody has acted in a good, cooperative manner," he said according to the New York Daily News. "Certainly in a way where I’m struck by how concerned both sides were for the best interest of their daughter."

Uma had to attend the hearing in New York in person while Arpad was given permission to phone in from his home in London, England. Further details of the conflict are not clear, as legal documents involving child custody are sealed.

While the 45-year-old is no doubt pleased to put the legal wrangling behind her, she wasn’t impressed to see the media waiting for her outside Manhattan’s Supreme Court.

“The press doesn't belong in Family Court," she said, despite the Manhattan Family Court being three blocks away from the one she was attending. “You should respect people's privacy, goodbye!”

Arpad had previously sued the actress for custody of Luna last year.

Uma has two other children from her marriage to Ethan Hawke, daughter Maya, 17 and son Levon, 13.
