Simon Cowell wants a baby girl

Simon Cowell would like to have a daughter with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman.

The 55-year-old music mogul already has a son, 15-month-old Eric, with his 37-year-old partner but hopes to add a new addition to their small family and he wants it to be a "little girl".

The 'X Factor' boss told HELLO! magazine: "I think if you have one child it would be lovely to have two and yes, I would like to have a little girl."

And the couple already have a name ready for any potential daughter, as when Eric was born, they thought he was a girl and had a moniker lined up.

Lauren revealed: "When I was pregnant with Eric I was told by doctors he was a girl, but he just fooled them. There were a few names floating around but we had our name picked out and it would be lovely to have a girl."

Despite the joy he has experiences being a parent, Simon is surprised he is a father at all.

He admitted: "I never expected to be a father but I love it."

On the prospect of having a daughter with the 'Britain's Got Talent' judge, Lauren laughed: "The only problem is that I will feel sorry for her when she is older because she won't be able to leave the house and no man would dare come near her because Simon would be so protective."
