Selma Blair 'very sorry' about plane meltdown
Actress Selma Blair has apologised to passengers and crew who witnessed her bizarre meltdown on a plane bound for Los Angeles on Monday (20Jun16).
Eyewitnesses tell TMZ the Hellboy star was taken off a Delta flight from Cancun, Mexico on a stretcher after reportedly losing her cool during the trip and raging about an unseen foe.
Reports suggest Selma yelled, "He burns my private parts... He beats me. He's going to kill me", as staff attempted to calm her down in the first class section of the plane.
Upon landing, medical staff boarded the aircraft and helped the actress off the plane. She was then taken to a nearby hospital.
A day after the strange episode, the Cruel Intentions star has released a statement apologising for her actions, admitting she mixed alcohol with pills.
"I made a big mistake yesterday," she writes. "After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.
"I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry."
In a statement issued to Vanity Fair, Blair insists her four-year-old son Arthur did not witness his mum's meltdown because he was asleep with headphones on during the incident.
Selma was returning from a Mexican vacation with her son and ex-boyfriend, fashion designer Jason Bleick.
