Scarlett Johansson disappointed she's the only woman in top-grossing top 10
Scarlett Johansson's high-grossing actress title has left her a little disappointed, because she's one of only two women in the top 20 of the new successful stars list.
The Lost in Translation star only just makes the Box Office Mojo top 10, behind the likes of Harrison Ford, Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, and Tom Hanks, and her celebrations have been marred by the fact only eight women make the top 50.
She's nine spots ahead of the nearest actress - Cameron Diaz is 19th on the new list. And Helena Bonham Carter (26), Cate Blanchett (29), Julia Roberts (30), Elizabeth Banks (31), Emma Watson (32), and Anne Hathaway (50) are the only other women in the top 50.
Scarlett, who picked up the Renaissance Award at the Gene Siskel Film Center's annual gala in Chicago, Illinois last week (ends01Jul16), has now spoken out about the film list honour, stating, "It's exciting to be the only woman in the top 10, but it's disappointing to be the only woman actually. That was a little bit of a surprise to me."
But while she might be a top-grossing star, Scarlett is still trying to perfect being a working mum.
"If somebody has the magic recipe for making being a working mum easy, let me know," she tells U.S. news show Extra.
The actress is mother to 22-month-old daughter Rose, and she admits she loves just hanging out with her kid: "It's my absolute greatest joy to change dirty diapers. I usually try to have something on hand to be distracting, a toy, a song; never works by the way, my daughter still hates it. She hates it!"
