Samantha Womack's alleged stalker arrested
Samantha Womack's alleged stalker has been arrested.
The 'EastEnders' actress contacted the police after she received a sinister love letter from an "obsessed" fan who had been camping outside her family home and it's now been reported a 22-year-old man from Norfolk has been arrested and taken into custody in Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Obviously this is a massive relief to Sam and her family. It has been a constant worry for them. Hopefully they can get back to normal now."
The 42-year-old star - who has 14-year-old son Benjamin and 10-year-old daughter Lily Rose with her husband Mark - is said to be "incredibly relieved" now the ordeal is over.
The source said previously: "This stalker has become completely obsessed with her and has been sleeping outside her house so that he can spy on her.
"The family are terrified that he will try to get into the grounds of the property or even the house.
"Sam has also received a weird love letter from this oddball that really disturbed her.
"The whole situation is an absolute nightmare and has really shaken up Sam and the family."
Bedfordshire police are now said to be investigating a string of incidents that took place at or near Sam's home.
