Salma Hayek relieved Kim Kardashian's children escaped robbery drama
Actress Salma Hayek is thankful Kim Kardashian's children were not with the reality star when she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on Monday (03Oct16).
Kanye West's wife, who had been in the city for Paris Fashion Week, was bound and gagged and locked in the bathroom of her exclusive hotel suite in the early hours of Monday, when her attackers escaped with $10 million (£7.8 million) in jewellery.
She filed a police report with local authorities, before jetting out of the city to be reunited with her husband in New York.
When the news first hit headlines, it was unclear if Kim's children, three-year-old daughter North, and nine-month-old son Saint, were with her in the hotel, but it has since been revealed her kids were safe and had stayed with their dad and a nanny in the Big Apple, where Kanye was booked to perform at the inaugural The Meadows Festival on Sunday night (02Oct16).
Salma was among the celebrities who had been attending Paris Fashion Week, and she admitted the news had come as a shock.
She told The Associated Press, "I know it's terrible, but thank God she's OK. Thank God she's OK. That's the only thing I can say, because it could have been worse."
The Latin beauty, who is mum to nine-year-old daughter Valentina, was relieved to learn the West children had not been caught up in the "horrific" incident.
"Thank God her little girl (North) was not here...," she added. "I know it's horrific, but at least there were some good points in that the little girl was not here and that she's fine."
Meanwhile, Salma has warned robbers she would not be a worthwhile target - because she never travels to Paris with much jewellery.
The actress, who lives in London with her billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault, said, "I don't have that much jewelry in Paris. I love Paris but I don't have the jewelry here, because I don't live here."
Hayek and Pinault relocated from the businessman's native France to London in 2014.
