Ryan Reynolds: I’m a poo zombie
Ryan Reynolds admits he is often in a zombie-like state while changing diapers in the middle of the night.
The 38-year-old actor welcomed daughter James with his wife Blake Lively last December.
Being a first-time father is not what Ryan expected, especially when it comes to being exposed to poo in the wee hours of the morning.
“It’s the most exciting time you can imagine,” he shared, according to British newspaper The Mirror. “You try to get used to the idea of waking up several times in the night to feed your baby or change diapers or rock your child back to sleep.
“Sometimes you’re in such a state you don’t even remember getting up and walking in the house at 3am.
“Normally you’d go crazy interrupting your sleep that way but when it’s your baby, it’s the best thing in the world.
“It seems almost unbelievable that she’s already a half-year old. That’s why I want to make the most of this time in her life.”
Ryan is currently promoting his new movie Self/less, a sci-fi thriller which centres on the chaos that ensues after a dying real estate mogul transfers his mind into a healthy young body, only to discover the company who made the switch is up to something devilish.
Ryan spent a lot of time filming Self/less in confined spaces, an act he was initially afraid to undertake.
“I’ve always had a bit of an issue with claustrophobia and elevators, they’ve really messed me up. I don’t know why,” he admitted. “Every time I’ve read a script that involves some aspect of that, I’m pretty intrigued. The only way to shoot something like that is to do it for real. That was life altering.”
