Richie: Vegas show will be bigger than anything
Lionel Richie is looking forward to doing everything he couldn’t before during his Las Vegas residency.
The 66-year-old singer confirmed this week that he will be hitting Sin City for a 20-show stint in April 2016.
And Lionel can’t wait to be able to perform for his fans without his show having any limits.
"I get to go in and everything you can't do on the road because it's just too awful expensive, we can do it there so if there's anything I want to play with or experiment with or do the drama thing, it's in Vegas,” Lionel told E! News.
Lionel’s performances will be taking place at Planet Hollywood, where Britney Spears is currently delighting fans with her Piece of Me residency.
Jennifer Lopez is another name recently confirmed for a residency in Vegas, and Lionel is well aware that Sin City is the place to be.
"It's the hippest thing on the planet. It's a destination again," Lionel said. "Every artist I know is trying to either be in Vegas from time to time or the residency."
Lionel is father to three children, adopted daughter Nicole and son and daughter Miles and Sofia with ex-wife Diane Alexander.
And the legendary performer is also excited about his time in Vegas because it will allow him to get in some bonding with the family.
"We are going to have so much fun in Vegas. The family is excited because we probably get to do a little bonding here."
He also took the time to set the record straight regarding the state of daughter Nicole and husband Joel Madden’s marriage amid claims they are set to divorce.
Strenuously denying the allegations, Lionel added: “They are so happy.”
Tickets for Lionel’s Vegas shows go on sale September 18.
