Reese Witherspoon 'unsure over daughter's acting ambition'
Reese Witherspoon's daughter apparently wants to get into acting, but the Hollywood star isn't so sure.
Reese has Ava, 16, and son Deacon, 11, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. The Oscar-winner is also mum to son Tennessee, who will be three on September 27, with her current spouse Jim Toth.
While Jim is said to be all for Ava's career choice, Reese still needs convincing.
"Ava has shown an interest in acting, but Jim and Reese disagree about whether she's ready. Jim thinks she should go for it, but the idea makes Reese nervous," an insider told America's OK! magazine.
One of the reasons holding Reese back is the fact that she started her own career at a young age. The 39-year-old's debut film was The Man in the Moon when she was just 15, and she's worked consistently ever since.
"Reese feels like she lost part of her childhood because she started acting so young. She wants Ava to enjoy her teen years," the source added.
It's not known whether Ava's actor father Ryan is on board with the idea.
Reese recently spoke about children with Southern Living magazine, admitting no parent really strikes the right balance between home and work life.
“No one’s really doing it perfectly. I think you love your kids with your whole heart, and you do the best you possibly can,” she mused.
“But, you know, right now I’m feeling sad missing my little two-year-old, and my daughter’s about to finish her freshman year of high school, and my son has a golf tournament this weekend that I hope I don’t miss.”
On the work front Reese has three new projects in the pipeline, including 2016 TV series Big Little Lies, alongside Nicole Kidman.
