Rachel Bilson: My daughter’s crazy!

Actress Rachel Bilson is convinced her little girl is a budding Olympic gymnast because she’s so active.

The 34-year-old welcomed daughter Briar Rose with partner Hayden Christensen in October last year (14). The star loves juggling motherhood with her acting career but admits her kid keeps her on her toes.

“She’s very busy,” she laughed to People magazine. “Literally, she might be an Olympic gymnast next month. She’s crazy.”

When she isn’t making her parents run around after her, Briar Rose enjoys reading, and the proud mum hopes her little girl is going to be a real scholar as she gets older because as she is such a book worm.

She is very well-read,” she continued. “She likes all books. I’m telling you, she’s like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.”

It isn’t the first time the little girl has been linked to a Disney princess - dad Hayden revealed back in August (15) the couple chose her moniker based on Sleeping Beauty's name.

“There’s a Disney reference there, I suppose,” he told Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family. “The original Sleeping Beauty is called Briar Rose. We both love all things Disney — but Rachel especially was very keen on the name. We have Disney songs playing around the house 24/7 right now.”

Rachel's update on her little girl comes as the family prepares to celebrate Briar Rose's first birthday on 29 October (29). Attending the No Kid Hungry‘s Dinner to End Childhood Hunger at The Four Seasons in Los Angeles last week (ends16Oct15), the former The O.C. actress was honoured for her efforts in helping to make sure that every child in the United States has access to healthy food.

“You take on this mother role to all children, but … you don’t think that one out of five children are hungry and you don’t think about it because you don’t really think it’s an issue,” she explained during her speech. “Organisations like this — that are bringing programs to schools and are doing things to help — are so important to get attention because it is fixable.”
