Pretty Little Liars cast get matching tattoos

Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson and the rest of their Pretty Little Liars cast have celebrated the end of the TV series by getting matching tattoos.

The actresses, along with co-stars Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse wrapped filming the seventh and final season of the show this week (begs24Oct16), and after saying their farewells to the cast and crew, they visited a Hollywood tattoo shop to immortalise the series in ink.

Shay, Ashley, Troian, Lucy, Janel, and Sasha all had the first initial of their characters' names tattooed on their pointer fingers, which also signifies their iconic "shhh" pose.

"We got the Shhhhhhh immortalized," Janel wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of the stars posing with their fingers up to their mouths. "#pllforever."

"This happened," Hale added. "Thank you @shamrocksocialclub for taking care of us. We couldn't not get tattoos to commemorate the show! And obviously on our "shh" finger".

The highly popular series premiered in 2010 and fans will find out what happens to their favourite characters when the final season debuts next year (17).

The tattoo visit came days after the actresses took to social media to reflect on their time on the show.

"Reflecting on these last seven years in my empty room I called home," Ashley wrote. "I will never forget this experience. I was so lucky to work with such amazing people who have affected my life greatly. I am so happy to know they will be my family from here on out.

She also thanked fans for supporting her and added, "I'm sad to say bye to (my character) Hanna..... but I'm excited to see what the future holds and I'm so happy to know that all of you will be by my side."

Lucy also posted a picture of her with her castmates, writing, "The day has come to say goodbye to my second home, a character that helped shaped me and so many people who mean the world to me. Bittersweet feelings today, but so proud of what we've done."
