Paula Patton: 'I'm enjoying my new life'

Robin Thicke's ex-wife Paula Patton feels like a teenager again now she's back on the dating scene.

The Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol beauty separated from Robin, the father of her six-year-old son Julian, in early 2014, after almost nine years of marriage. Paula and the Blurred Lines star, who started dating in their teenage years, divorced last year (15).

Robin bounced back from the broken marriage by quickly embarking on a romance with model April Love Geary, who is 17 years his junior, but Paula is only casually dating - a concept she finds "weird".

"I'm available, but it's just like a funny thing," she told U.S. morning show Live! with Kelly on Thursday (09Jun16). "I mean, I married my high school sweetheart so I never dated, so it's brand new for me. It's weird. I kind of have this dual life. I'm a mum most of the week and then he (Julian) is with his dad and then I'm trying to figure this (dating) out. I'm like this Sex and the City girl, like I don't know. I'm like a teenager, I don't know what's happening..."

During her separation, Paula began filming new movie Warcraft, which ended up being a "life-changing" experience for the actress.

"Well, a lot of things happened quite frankly during it," she continued. "And what I had to do physically to become (her character) Garona, because they wanted me to look like I could potentially be half orc (human-like creature). So there was a lot of physical training and there were moments where you feel like you cant do it and I learned all these stunts and such and in that, it strengthens you physically, but in that instance, it also strengthens your mind, body, soul, spirit and that was really life changing."

"I separated from my husband and were now divorced and that's OK, you move forward," she added. "And now there will be this moment in my life that will forever be the moment that everything changed and now because I'm starting this brand new life, it's really weird, I don't know. It's not even like a new chapter. It's like a new book and it's exciting, I kind of feel like a kid again."
