Pamela Anderson couldn't say no to Hugh Hefner's final Playboy offer
Pamela Anderson couldn't turn down Hugh Hefner when he told her there was no one else he wanted to grace the cover of the final nude Playboy.
The 48-year-old actress - who first posed for the publication in 1989 and appeared in the publication's pages 15 times - donned the cover and stripped naked one last time for the last ever issue with full-frontal nudity.
Pamela received a personal call from Playboy owner Hugh, 89, offering her the prestigious job and when he told her she was the biggest sex symbol since the late Marilyn Monroe and he didn't want anyone else she knew she had to say "yes".
She told The New York Times newspaper: "He says to me, 'There's nobody else from Marilyn to Pamela.' How could I say no? We shot at the mansion. I got to roll down the grassy hill in the front (of the Playboy Mansion) for the last time - naked."
Pamela understands why the magazine decided on the editorial policy on having no full-frontal nudity and she admits the days where a women could make a great living from being a pin-up are over, and that's due to the onslaught of social media.
She said: "Now girls are shooting pictures down their tops, retouching them and putting the images up to the world. That's it."
When Pammie arrived in Los Angeles to try and make it as a model at the age of 22 she aspired to be like the Playboy Playmates of the time.
She said: "I would look at all these girls on the walls of Playboy, and I would go, 'Look at their breasts, look at their bodies. How's that even possible?' "
After being named the Playmate of the Month in Playboy's February 1990 issue, Pammie made the decision to have breast enlargement surgery and increased her bust size to 34D and she admits she never worried about anything going wrong because she was so focused on the results.
The former 'Baywatch' star - who later increased her boobs to a 34DD before having her implants removed in 1999 - explained: "I didn't even have time to think about it (the breast operation). It was done within a week, and that was that."
