Paltrow ‘embarrassed by conscious uncoupling’

Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly embarrassed by the term conscious uncoupling.

Last March Gwyneth and ex-husband Chris rocked the showbiz world when they announced they were splitting after ten years of marriage. They decided the break the news via Gwyneth's lifestyle website Goop, in a piece titled Conscious Uncoupling.

Since the break-up the A-listers have stayed close friends, but sources say that is no longer the case.

"Gwyneth feels embarrassed that she's synonymous with conscious uncoupling, and has made so many public comments on her mature split, which is backfiring. These days, Chris seems to be doing what he wants and refusing to toe the party line. I think she was naive to expect they'd stay best friends," a source told British magazine Grazia.

Last month it was reported that Gwyneth and Chris' smooth divorce was starting to sour as they both get more serious with their new partners. Gwyneth is dating Brad Falchuk and Chris is romancing Jennifer Lawrence.

They share children Apple, 11, and nine-year-old Moses, but their friendly middle ground is said to be shaky these days.

"She had the best of both worlds - the freedom she'd wanted for some time, but also time with Chris. Gradually that has fallen apart," the source said.

Gwyneth, 42, herself has spoken about the difficulties she and 38-year-old Chris have faced post-separation, recently shedding some light on the divorce.

"It’s been hard, and you know, like, we’ve gone through really difficult times with it but we’ve always said these children are our priority," she said.

"What that really means is, 'Even though today, you hate me and you never want to see me again, like, we’re going to brunch, cause it’s Sunday and that’s what we’ll do!' You know, like, 'That’s what’s happening!'"
