Nick Cannon: I’m running on fumes
Nick Cannon is back in hospital.
The America’s Got Talent host has been battling a host of health problems over the past few years.
And on Wednesday, the 34-year-old told his fans on Instagram that he has paid the price of working too hard.
Alongside a picture of himself hooked up to various machines in a hospital bed while wearing a floppy black hat, Nick wrote: “Sometimes I can be a little too bull headed and stubborn. I gotta stop running my body to the ground.
“I be wanting to grind nonstop but the engine can't run on fumes. On the low though, I really think I'm a super hero... Now I'm not saying I'm Batman, but I am saying nobody has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together. LOL #ImGood (sic).”
While Nick didn’t detail the reasons for his hospitalisation, it is believed to be something to do with the autoimmune condition he was diagnosed with in 2012.
After receiving treatment for a kidney infection and then blood clots in his lungs just a few weeks later, doctors later discovered that the father-of-two was actually suffering from an autoimmune disease.
"[The kidney infection was a result of] autoimmune disease that [doctors] found in my system," Nick told People in 2012.. "It's a lot of stuff, but it's all in order now.
"They kind of say [my] autoimmune [disease] is – like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it.
"The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because... I've known people who have passed away from that.
"I feel blessed to be alive. If it wasn't discovered, I don't know [what would have happened. My condition is something I'm going to be living with all my life."
Following the diagnosis Nick, who was formerly married to Mariah Carey, made the decision to quit his US radio show.
However, in recent weeks the presenter has had a hectic schedule which has seen him shooting episodes of America’s Got Talent and his MTV series Wild ‘n Out.
