Melanie Griffith: 'Will I use dating sites? Good lord, no!'
Melanie Griffith has no interest in looking for love on dating sites.
The 58-year-old actress is newly single following her divorce from Antonio Banderas in December (15) after 19 years of marriage. But while some of her peers may use means such as dating websites and apps to find a man, Melanie won't be following in their footsteps.
"F**k no! Are you kidding? No. Good lord. That would be scary!" Melanie laughed when asked about the prospect during an interview with People magazine.
The mother-of-three added that she is "still looking" for her next partner. But when it comes to finding him, she is hoping she can rely on more traditional methods to attract a suitor.
"Looking across a crowded room, right? Isn't that the thing?" she said. "I'm not really looking, I'm just being, and I figure if I'm meant to have another relationship, I will, and if I'm not, then I won't."
Both Melanie and Antonio are doing their best to move on following the end of their marriage. And the actress is enjoying her new lease of life, taking the time to get her priorities straight.
"I'm having a very introspective time right now," she said. "It's an interesting time. It's just sort of nice. I'm single, and lonely, and bored, and confused - but then at the same time, totally curious. It's almost like I have to throw myself out of the nest."
The Working Girl star also has her children to keep her busy. She is mother to 30-year-old Alexander Bauer with ex-husband Steven Bauer, 26-year-old actress Dakota Johnson with her ex Don Johnson, as well as 19-year-old Stella with Antonio.
Speaking of her brood, Melanie said: "Life is moving on. My kids are all great. They're beautiful people." And she hopes her family will further extend in the near future, if Alexander and Dakota have children of their own.
She added: "They're old enough to have kids now, so I should have grandchildren soon. Then they can come over – and then go home. I think just seeing my kids with their own kids is going to be the thing."
