Mel B: Motherhood is my 'most important job'
Mel B's "most important job" is being a mother.
The former Spice Girl - who has Phoenix, sixteen and Angel, eight from previous relationships and four-year-old Madison with husband Stephen Belafonte - will always put her kids over and above her career.
She said: "[They get on] really well. They all love each other although they're quite different. We do things as a family all the time. I'm a mum and that's my most important job ...
"Like any other working mum, I take them with me sometimes. Home is where the kids are. It doesn't really matter where you live in the world, does it? You make it what you want it to be. They think I'm a mum with an exciting job."
The 40-year-old singer - who grew up in Leeds, England and now lives in sunny Los Angeles - says her kids have an affinity with her home country despite calling LA their home and credits them for keeping her young.
She added: "I never feel like I really left. My kids feel the States are their home, but they know the UK well because we're here so much.
"Having kids keeps me young. I feel good and healthy, settled and happy."
And Mel also insists there is no bad feelings between herself and Eddie Murphy, who is the father of her middle child, Angel.
When asked if she was upset when Eddie publicly requested a paternity test, she told The Times newspaper: "That's not true. That's the press for you ...
"I don't get bothered by it. Life carries on. Eddie and I have always got on. It has always been good. I'm happy with who I am."
