Lord Alan Sugar 'can't wait' to see Arnold Schwarzenegger 'c**k up'
Lord Alan Sugar "can't wait" to see Arnold Schwarzenegger "c**k up" the US 'Apprentice'.
The 'Terminator' star was announced as Donald Trump's replacement on 'Celebrity Apprentice' earlier this year but Lord Sugar - who has been the face of the UK version for 11 series - doesn't think he'll bring much success.
Asked if he'd considered doing both the UK and US versions, Lord Sugar said: "Well, they've got Arnie now haven't they? I'll be over in America and I can't wait to see what c**k up he's going to make of it."
The 68-year-old business expert says he was in the running for the job but that bosses didn't think enough Americans would know who he was.
He explained: "They did consider me but to be perfectly blunt, the American public don't know who I am, which is fine, that's why I spend most of my time there.
"It would have been an interesting thing to do but the producers decided they needed someone who the American public knew."
Lord Sugar also blamed the "demise" of the "civilian" version of the US apprentice - which followed the same format as the UK version - on their decision to introduce "gimmicks".
He added: "They just started doing silly things and the audience saw through it so what's good about 'The Apprentice' is very simple. I'm the same, but a little bit older I suppose if you look back to 11 years ago, but what's not the same is the candidates and it is those candidates that make compelling viewing, different candidates and the uncertainty of what they can say and do."
'The Apprentice' series 11 kicks off next Wednesday, October 14 at 9pm on BBC One.
