Lamar Odom won't be walking in time for Christmas - report
Lamar Odom will reportedly not be walking in time for Christmas, despite previous claims suggesting he was back on his feet.
The former basketball player has been in hospital since October (15), after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel following a drug overdose.
TMZ previously reported the 36-year-old had built up enough strength to take his first few steps unaided, but a new source has revealed Lamar is not mobile just yet.
"Lamar has made great improvements after the overdose, but he is not walking and unfortunately there is no Christmas miracle for his condition," the insider told Radar Online. "He's still in pretty bad shape. Lamar wants to get better and he gives it his all, but it is tough. Really tough for him."
On 17 December (15), TMZ reported the former Los Angeles Lakers player had taken three steps without his walker, much to his doctors' surprise, but the new details are at odds with those claims.
However, Lamar is allegedly set to leave Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. and move to a rehabilitation facility in the New Year (16) to continue his lengthy recovery process.
A representative for the sports star has yet to comment on either report.
His estranged wife Khloé Kardashian has spent a great deal of time by her ex's bedside since he was first hospitalised and has kept fans up to date on his progress.
"He's OK," she told U.S. breakfast show Today last month (Nov15). "Every day is different. The good thing is he's off of medical machines that will keep him alive. He's learning how to walk again and learning... cognitive therapy and speech therapy. They (doctors) think, like, within a year-and-a-half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don't know."
