Lamar Odom’s father ‘asks people to pray’
Lamar Odom’s father has reportedly asked people to pray for his son after he was found unconscious in a brothel on Tuesday (13Oct15).
Khloé Kardashian’s ex-husband has struggled with substance abuse for a long time and the sportsman was even suspended from the National Basketball Association for violating its anti-drugs policy. It’s believed the 35-year-old athlete is now fighting for his life after he was found unresponsive at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada. Lamar is in a coma and is breathing with the assistance of machines, according to TMZ, while he is also reportedly having "serious problems" with his heart, kidneys and lungs.
His father Joe told Us Weekly he is "just trying to take care of some business right now”. An eyewitness adds the worried parent, who was with two other people, was asking people to pray for Lamar.
It’s thought the star checked into the brothel on Saturday (10Oct15) and was taking herbal Viagra throughout his stay. Khloé, who split from the sportsman in 2013 after a four-year marriage, is said to have rushed to his side. A source told ET Online that the 31-year-old socialite is “beside herself”.
Stars are reaching out to Lamar in huge numbers, taking to Twitter to share their well wishes and prayers. Fellow sportsman Dwyane Wade posted: “I can't help but to be up right now... THINKING about my ex teammate/ friend LO.. On my knees praying...please God let him pull thru..
PRAYERS all the way UP for my brother Lamar Odom!!! (sic)”
“Sending love to Lamar Odom & his family,” Modern Family star Ariel Winter wrote. Khloé is yet to address the incident on social media but she did post some pictures of self-help books including the title Black Butterfly, which was written to help people cope with the death of a loved one.
