Kylie Jenner feared evacuation amid weekend wildfire
Kylie Jenner flew into a panic on Saturday (04Jun16) as a wildfire in Calabasas, California burned a little too close to her home.
The model and reality TV star took to social media and asked followers if she should consider an evacuation as the blaze ripped through 500 acres of the California countryside and pumped thick black smoke high into the sky.
Approximately 5,000 people were evacuated while firefighters were attempting to contain the fire, and Kylie feared she'd be one.
She wrote: "Am I going to have to evacuate?" after sister Kendall captured the blaze on camera and posted the shot on Snapchat.
Her big sister Khloe Kardashian responded: "No, Kylie, you won't have to evacuate, because it's closer to my house than yours, sadly, so let's pray nobody has to evacuate."
According to officials at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the fire began on Saturday afternoon in Calabasas after a pickup truck drove into a power pole.
One commercial building was destroyed in the fire while two residences suffered minor damage, according to the fire department officials.
Most Calabasas residents were given the all clear and allowed to return to their homes at 2 am local time on Sunday (05Jun16).
The sisters returned to social media on Sunday to thank firefighters who responded to the blaze.
Thanks to all the brave firefighters, on the ground and overhead. Appreciate what you do to keep us safe," Khloe tweeted, while sister Kourtney added: "Need to express my gratitude towards the brave firefighters who keep us safe. Scary day yesterday and they are still going. #CalabasasFire."
Comedian and TV personality Ellen Degeneres was also keeping a close eye on news of the blaze, revealing her wife Portia's brother was among the firefighters tackling it.
"Sending thanks to Portia's brother Michael & all the rescue workers on the scene of this dangerous fire in Calabasas," she tweeted.
