Kris Jenner: Pray for Lamar Odom
Kris Jenner has asked for support in the form of prayer as her former son-in-law Lamar Odom faces the brink of death.
On Tuesday 13 October (15) Lamar was found unconscious at the Love Ranch South brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.
He is now in critical condition at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, where the 35-year-old athlete is said to be in a coma and on life support.
Earlier reports suggested Lamar has a 50/50 chance of survival as several of his vital organs have failed and Keeping Up with the Kardashians matriarch Kris, who is mother to Lamar’s estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, has implored fans to send their love.
“Please pray for Lamar #ourfighter,” Kris wrote on her Instagram account Wednesday 14 October (15), attaching an image of the athlete playing basketball with his former NBA team the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kris’ son Rob Kardashian followed suit, writing on his own Instagram account: “Praying nonstop for my Brother !!”
A source informed CNN although Lamar and Khloé signed divorce papers this summer (15), the split has not been finalised, meaning she is still able to make medical decisions for him.
It’s claimed several people have come to visit Lamar in hospital, including his father, childhood friends, several members of the Kardashian family, the two children he shares with ex-girlfriend Liza Morales, civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson and ex Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant.
The Nye County Sheriff department held a press conference on the matter. Sheriff Sharon Wehrly claimed a Love Ranch brothel employee dialed 911, noting on the emergency call Lamar had “white stuff" and blood oozing from his mouth and nose after being discovered unconscious. According to authorities the 911 caller also said Lamar did cocaine during his stay there and ingested up to 10 herbal Viagra supplements. A blood sample from the former NBA star has been sent to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police for testing.
In light of reports the athlete may have suffered a stroke and irreversible brain damage, Dennis Hof, the owner of Love Ranch South, revealed the initial medical response team painted a grim picture from the outset.
"When they took him to the Pahrump hospital, the people there told us, 'He doesn't look good. He doesn't look like he'll make it, and if he does, he won't be the same,'” the brothel owner told CNN.
However, there are several people rooting for Lamar to make it through, including Khloé’s younger half-sister Kendall Jenner.
“please don't go. (sic),” the supermodel wrote on Twitter.
