Kim Kardashian West: Being brunette is 'who I am'
Kim Kardashian West says being brunette is "who I am".
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashian' star recently dyed her hair platinum blonde and admitted she did it because she wanted a "fun new look".
She said: "Dark is my natural colour. Being brunette is who I am."
When asked why she chose to change her hair colour, she added to US Weekly magazine: "I was like, 'Why not have a fun new look?'"
The 34-year-old television personality got highlights worth $500, which took four hours, at the Goddard + Bragg salon in West Hollywood before heading to L'Atelier Blanc whilst she was in Paris to have her hair dyed more blonde by Frédéric Mennetrier.
Meanwhile, Kim recently revealed her new hair do was inspired by Madonna.
She said: "I've always had this image of Madonna with platinum hair in my references folder on my computer and I've been waiting a long time to try the look."
"I thought what better time than right now for Paris Fashion Week. It was a really last minute decision."
Like Kim, one of her hairstylist's Chris McMillan believes her locks are a "part of her identity".
He said previously: "Kim's long, gorgeous hair is part of her identity.
"Kim's natural texture is so thick and wavy. Instead of fighting it, I like to go with it, keeping everything soft, easy and understated."
