Kendrick: Don’t be pretentious!
Anna Kendrick’s new mantra is to never be a “pretentious f**kface”.
The 30-year-old actress has seen her career rocket thanks to roles in Up in the Air, Pitch Perfect and Into the Woods. But despite her fame, Anna is still doing her best to keep her feet firmly on the ground.
“I can't think of anything that wouldn't make me sound like a pretentious f**kface,” she said when asked by the American edition of Elle if she had a mantra she lived her life by. “Maybe that should be my motto: Don't be a pretentious f**kface.”
While the star does her best to keep it real at all times, she hopes that she will never become blasé about her work. When asked what she would like to be doing 30 years from now, being an actress was still top of her list.
“I just hope that I'm still working and enjoying it. I guess that's what I hope I never lose sight of, that this is all supposed to be fun,” she explained. “This is my dream. I never want to get to a place where I feel like I have to work just to keep with the Joneses or something. I hope I'm still enjoying it.”
The success of her films means that Anna leads an action-packed lifestyle. While she never takes it for granted, the star admitted she is looking forward to a well earned break.
“For the first time in a long time, I don't have my next film planned, which is a good feeling because I haven't had more than a couple weeks off in like three years,” she said. “I'm hoping to take the time to actually live in my own house for a month or something. That would be really nice.”
When left to her own devices, Anna plans to spend some time in the kitchen.
“I'm like maybe 10% of a better cook than I was a year ago, and I'm hoping to up that percentage,” she laughed. “I'm still pretty useless, but I'd like to be somebody who understands how to prepare food like a normal human, not to just live off of cereal and yogurt.”
