Kate Winslet ready for 40
Kate Winslet is ready to turn 40.
The 'Insurgent' actress - who has daughter Mia, 14, and son Joe, 11, from her two previous marriages and 15-month-old son Bear with third husband Ned Rocknroll - is experiencing a "surge of creative energy" and is looking forward to the next chapter of her life.
Kate, who turns 40 in October, said: "What is interesting, I have definitely felt this sort of surge of creative energy.
"I don't know quite how else to say it but I'm aware of being 40 and just kind of wanting to click into another gear or start experiencing this next decade.
"I want to look toward 40. I don't want to go, 'Oh f**k, I'm 40.' I want to get there going, 'Yes, look at me, I made it, I did it. I actually had a really nice run the last couple of years.' "
Kate feels very "fortunate" for the career opportunities she has had but is particularly thankful her role in 'Titanic' - which shot her and co-star Leonardo DiCaprio to global fame in 1997 - was released at a time without social media as it allowed her not to let the attention go to her head or change her.
She said: "I feel incredibly fortunate to have not only had the type of experiences that I've had in my career, but also to have experienced the success of 'Titanic' at a time in our world when I think Leo and I were able to remain to a certain extent unaffected by it as people, largely because social media didn't exist."
And the British star feels concerned for her young 'Insurgent' co-stars such Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller because it would be so easy for them to have their heads turned by fame.
She told the New York Daily News newspaper: "I do feel a sense of just wanting to make sure that they keep it all in perspective, because it's very easy to lose perspective in this business.
"It really is. And I think now more than ever, it's harder for young actors to stay strong and clear-headed and sane and excited about the work as opposed to excited about the fame.
