Kate Ford dedicates soap award to mother

Kate Ford has dedicated her Best Bad Girl Inside Soap Award to her mother.

The 'Coronation Street' actress was awarded the gong for the second consecutive year for her role as conniving Tracy Barlow and, Kate - who could not make the ceremony in London on Monday (05.10.15) - revealed she plans to give the award to her mother.

She said: "I am so pleased to have won this award - I'm really chuffed! It means so much to me with it being a public vote. All the other nominees are fantastic, and they all play great characters, so I'm very flattered.

"I'm going to give the award to my mum - she is my inspiration."

Although Kate won the award for Best Bad Girl, 'Coronation Street' lost out on the Best Soap gong to its rival 'Emmerdale', which also won for Best Actor, Best Bad Boy, Best Newcomer, Best Young Actor, Sexiest Male, Best Affair and Best Partnership.

Steven Murphy, editor of Inside Soap, said: "Inside Soap readers have had the toughest job in the world this year, as all the soaps have been on cracking form. We're proud tonight to announce who and what have been named the nation's favourites, on a fantastic evening where we make sure everyone leaves feeling like a winner!"
