Kat Dennings and Ronda Rousey are knitting club pals
Actress Kat Dennings has formed an unlikely knitting club with mixed martial arts star-turned-actress Ronda Rousey.
The 2 Broke Girls star shared the news of her new pastime on America's The Ellen DeGeneres Show, revealing she took up the hobby after celebrating her 30th birthday in June (16).
"I turned 30 this year and... I feel like every year, I fulfill my old man destiny," she said. "The older I get, the more I fit in to the things I like, like knitting, old people books, Sudoku, that stuff."
Kat found she wasn't the only person in her social group who wanted to take up knitting, so she started a club with UFC fighter and Furious 7 star Rousey.
"I started an unlikely knitting club. Me and my very good friend Ronda Rousey, we have a knitting club. The two of us and a lot of our lovely friends. It's called The Yarn and the Restless," she explained, referencing the U.S. soap The Young and the Restless.
However, the actress admits they frequently end up too drunk on wine to really create anything of use.
"We've knitted a scarf...," she smiled. "Here's the truth: all these clubs I have are just wine clubs. It's under the blanket of knitting... We just knit a scarf and get drunk, and make friend memories."
Rousey has yet to weigh in on her new knitting club. She has been keeping busy since her star turn in Furious 7, after landing the lead in a remake of Patrick Swayze's 1989 movie Road House. The 29-year-old is also training for her UFC comeback following her shocking defeat at the hands of Australian Holly Holm last year (15).
