June Sarpong pays tribute to 'amazing' brother Sam Sarpong
June Sarpong has paid tribute to her "amazing" brother Sam Sarpong.
The 40-year-old presenter and model reportedly took his own life by jumping from a bridge in Pasadena, California last night (28.10.15) after police spent seven hours trying to persuade him to come down and his 'Loose Women' panelist sister has now spoken out to admit she's devastated.
In a statement, she said: "I love my brother very much. Sam was an amazing human being. His passing is a loss for the world."
The 38-year-old star also urged people experiencing suicidal thoughts to speak to someone about it.
She added: "I'd ask anyone who is going through tough times to seek help. Please talk to someone."
Sam's 'Yo Momma' co-host Wilmer Valderrama has also taken to social media to write a touching tribute to his late colleague.
Alongside a photo collage of Sam, he wrote on Instagram: "I am so sad & so confused.. Sam did it all, believed in dreaming bigger than anyone around him.. We made memories together that will last us forever, thank you for sharing your talent with me and the world.. You were a light everywhere you went and I couldn't be more proud of the journey you traveled.. You just left us too early Sam.. We will miss you and pray for you.. Once again thank you for all those years you dedicated to our show, we couldn't have done it without you!
Find your peace my brother! (sic)"
Wilmer also reiterated June's comments about seeking help.
He added: "And to everyone in a dark place.. PLEASE, please talk to someone.. Anyone.. Trust me that we WILL listen.. You are not alone, there are so many people that feel the same darkness, let's help one another, let us shine hope on all those that need our understanding!! Reach out to someone and make your first step towards living a life you deserve.
"My prayers and heart are with family and friends that were blessed to know his beautiful soul #RIPSamSarpong (sic)."
A Los Angeles coroner's office is waiting for Sam's toxicology results to be released before it can confirm the official cause of his death.
