Jim Carrey distressed by publication of his ex-girlfriend's autopsy report
Actor Jim Carrey can't believe his late ex-girlfriend's suicide note has been handed to the media.
Cathriona White, 30, took her own life in September (15), and details linked to her autopsy report, which was obtained by TMZ earlier this week (beg04Mon16), suggest she was struggling following her split from her actor boyfriend.
The 53-year-old was left devastated by her death, and the details being made public have really upset him.
"When I came to Hollywood to make it as a comedian, I soon learned that the details of my private life would be handed out to the media like free dinner vouchers," he said in a statement to People Magazine. "I never dreamed that the people I love most in the world would also be on the menu. What a shame."
TMZ reported Cathriona was found with four different types of powerful medication by her side, as well as a note addressed to the actor which read: "I've spent three days now in disbelief that you're not here. I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don't have the will this time. I'm sorry you felt I wasn't there for you. I tried to give you my best part.
"I don’t really know about burial or that sort of thing. You are my family so whatever you choose will be fine. Please forgive me. I'm just not for this world."
In a report released by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, White overdosed on multiple prescription drugs, including anti-nausea medication Zofran, beta blocker Propranol, painkiller Percocet and sleep-aid Ambien.
