Jerry O’Connell: I don’t get my kids’ homework!
Jerry O’Connell doesn’t understand his six-year-old daughters’ homework.
The 41-year-old actor is father to twins Dolly and Charlie with wife Rebecca Romijn.
And despite their tender age, Jerry has revealed he is already struggling to comprehend some of the girls’ work they are sent home with from school.
“They’re in first grade. I already don’t understand their homework,” Jerry told People as he attended the 2015 Television Industry Advocacy Awards Gala on Friday (18Sep15).
“Some of their homework is on the computer. They know it better than I do. I was having problems logging on to a website, but my kids knew how.
“It’s frightening how much they know! They’re not babies anymore — it’s getting real now.”
Since shooting to fame in Stand By Me aged 11, Jerry has had roles in major movies including Jerry Maguire and Veronica Mars. Rebecca is also a famous actress, with roles in projects including X-Men under his belt. But despite the pair’s celebrity statuses, Jerry insists they do their bit when it comes to helping out at their kids’ school.
“They’re doing a play, which we volunteer for,” Jerry said. “So we help whenever we can.
“My wife, ironically enough, is in a show called The Librarians, and she volunteers at their library.”
Seeing such a huge star behind the shelves at their school does cause something of a stir among the students, however.
But Jerry says he finds the whole thing incredibly amusing.
“It’s hilarious,” he said. “I just take pictures of it the whole time!”
