Jenson Button to join Top Gear?

Jenson Button has sparked speculation he's set to join 'Top Gear'.

The Formula 1 driver has hinted he could be set to join host Chris Evans on the revamped BBC car show after dodging questions about whether or not he's planning to retire from the motor sport.

He said: "You're just going to have to wait a little bit longer. I'll be happy next year, that's the important thing."

BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris also added to speculation by telling listeners there were "rumours of a 'Top Gear'-related press conference in Suzuka", where Button will be for the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend.

However, a spokesperson for the BBC has since rubbished the claims, saying: "There is no 'Top Gear' announcement. Whatever is happening in Japan has nothing to do with us."

Chris was announced as the new host of the popular show after Jeremy Clarkson was sacked for punching a producer in a row over a steak earlier this year.

And as his co-presenters James May and Richard Hammond decided to quit the show to join him on a new car show for Amazon Prime, Chris is now looking to put together his own team of hosts.

In addition to Button, other names that have been linked to the jobs include Guy Martin, Jodi Kidd, and Suzi Perry.
