Jennifer Lawrence: I hate waking up without a goal
Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence feels like she is “ageing like a president” because of her heavy work schedule.
The 25 year old is one of the hardest working actresses in Hollywood, taking the lead in the Hunger Games franchise as well as starring roles in movies like American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook and upcoming flick Joy. But the star jokes that her work ethic does have a few downsides.
“I try to keep working so people can see other characters and other things I can do instead of taking vacation time, and now I'm aging like a president," she told reporters at a press conference for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 according to People. "I hate waking up without a goal or going to sleep without achieving nothing."
Jennifer loves playing the lead character Katniss Everdeen in the hit franchise but is always keen to show her versatility by taking on different kinds of characters in other movies. She also feels like she works “obsessively” to avoid going “crazy” over the level of media attention that she has to deal with.
“Your entire world changes," she explained. "Now it's very easy for me because I'm isolated. I have a new normal now. I feel very stable, and normal, and happy, but it took a few years to get used to being looked at differently. It's kind of an alienating feeling.”
Jennifer admits it took some time to get used to people treating her differently when they meet her but she does her best to separate her celebrity self from her real life.
“You don't feel different but everyone reacts to you differently,” she continued. “It was a few years of getting used to it. Then it was ‘OK, let's get back to work’ and people react and can do whatever they want. That's fine and it's on them. I have a job. That's how I think of it."
