Jennifer Garner talks 'pros and cons' of being a famous mum
Actress Jennifer Garner thinks her children are pretty neutral about being the offspring of celebrity parents.
The 43-year-old Dallas Buyers Club star shares three young kids with estranged husband Ben Affleck, who she separated from last year (15) after a decade of marriage.
But growing up with Hollywood A-listers for parents hasn't been a traumatic experience for their tots.
“They have an understanding of what their parents do for a living and they get it… we just talk about the pros and cons," she tells Extra.
The family has remained united despite Jennifer and Ben's impending divorce.
And Jennifer continues to appreciate the little things her ex does to make their children happy, noting Ben went all out for their son Samuel's fourth birthday in February (16).
“We all dressed up, I dressed up as a ninja, and Ben dressed up as Batman for Sam, which was the best dad moment in history,” she gushes about the superhero themed bash. “It was pretty sweet.”
Running a household while maintaining a thriving acting career means life gets tough for Jennifer from time to time, and when she finds the day-to-day overwhelming, the stunning star relies on her loved ones for support.
“My girlfriends for sure, and they’re everything, and I include my sisters in that…," the Miracles from Heaven leading lady says of who is there for her when she needs help. "I think I’m so lucky to have grown up with two sisters because I make my girlfriends my sisters and I make my sisters girlfriends.”
Starring in her new Christian drama Miracles from Heaven brought Jennifer back to church - another place she goes for refuge from hectic everyday affairs.
"I grew up going to church every Sunday," she details to Entertainment Tonight. "Doing this film and being around people where church was normal, more normal than it is in Los Angeles.
"It kind of just made me think, 'I've got to get on this'. So I talked to my kids, and they said, 'Of course we're ready to go.' I said, 'OK, we'll go Sunday!' It's been a really nice thing for my family."
