Jennifer Connelly thinks she has 'stern' eyebrows
Jennifer Connelly thinks her "stern" eyebrows have stunted her career.
The 44-year-old actress - who has appeared in a host of hit movies, including 'Labyrinth' and 'Once Upon a Time in America' - has joked her serious-looking eyebrows have discouraged filmmakers from casting her in comedy roles.
Asked why she doesn't star in more comedies, she told CBS' 'Sunday Morning': "I think it's my eyebrows. I look stern even when I'm not stern.
"If I'm not feeling cross, I look a little bit cross. I can't help it. It's just my face."
Jennifer's remarks come shortly after she insisted she would never have plastic surgery.
The actress - who has been married to Paul Bettany since 2003 - said: "We equate beauty for women with youth, and that's sad. It's a shame it's so hard for so many of us to appreciate the beauty of an older woman and to accept it in ourselves. I don't want to erase my history on my face."
However, Jennifer also said she doesn't judge any of her peers for choosing to go under the knife.
She explained: "There's a window of time, a hump to get over, because it's inevitable. I love that Radiohead song 'Fake Plastic Trees': 'He used to do surgery for girls in the '80s, but gravity always wins.' It's certainly a dialogue I have with myself. And I don't judge; every woman has to make her own choice. But for me it's more beautiful to see the person."
